To speak any language you need words.  So, to learn a language you need to learn words. You need to learn lots of words. But, the question is, how many words? How many words do you need to know to speak a language? 

There is a study. This study is about the English language. It is a very interesting study. This study gives a number. The number is 800. This is the number of the most common words in English.
